Molded bi-material seal EPDM or fluorocarbon / loaded silicone
The bi-material seal is composed of a face made of elastomer filled with metal particles and a silicone or fluorosilicone face .
The latter aims to isolate the conductive part of the corrosive environment (humidity, salt mist).
It may also be manufactured in different grades of hardness as required.
To widen the range of application of these joints, Stacem just implement the association by molding a loaded silicone to an EPDM elastomer (Skydrol resistance) or to a fluorocarbon (CBRN resistance).
The manufacturing method that has been developed offers a good chemical bond between the two materials.
Several elastomer grades are possible, allowing a use in many applications (aerospace, military, nuclear, medical, food processing, chemicals, ...).
